Board Meeting Minutes

January 9, 2009

President Kathy Jones called the FOL Board meeting to order at 12:10 p.m. In attendance were Beccy Oberly, Mary Lou Gasienica, Nancy Snyder, Sue Tooley, Maggi Buttrell, and Dale Garrett.

Treasurer’s Report:  Current balance in checking:  $1,774.99

                                     Prime Vest account:                     600.00 (estimated)

                                                Total                            $2,374.99

The WWII book collection is now catalogued and being used.

The Robert Stephens/Julia Packard Non-Endowment Fund (Santa Cruise, CA) has awarded a grant to FOL for $1,000. The issuers did not restrict usage of the money, but did request letting them know how it is spent. Some suggestions were buying and framing copies of the U. S. Constitution and the State of Montana Constitution. “How to” books are needed by the Library, as well as other books.

Huntley Project needs books to replace those destroyed by fire and insurance may not cover. Kathy will contact their librarian to find out what exactly is needed.

February 18, 2009 is the date of the Soup and Bread Luncheon. Proceeds will go to the Children’s Books and Videos section, unless there is a greater need elsewhere. Maggi and Jacque will display some of the books purchased from last year’s SBL’s donations, as well as books that need replacing. Kathy asks each of us to bring baskets for the breads and ladles. The following have signed up to bring soup, breads, and/or cookie bars:
